External Sharing with Custom URL

Has anyone figured out how to share with external users when using a custom domain (not yourdomain.subsonic.org)? I was able to hack it together and make it work in the 4.X days, but I've since migrated servers and I'm on version 6.0 and I haven't been able to get it working correctly.

My Subsonic is on Server 2016 running Tomcat.

Well, you have to config the IIS to do a reverse proxy (I don't know how), then forward the port 80 or 443 to the machine's IP, and point your domain to your external IP (sorry for my english).

I have my subsonic available via my own url. I didn't configure it in Subsonic at all. Just configure your router to add LAN IP and required port to forward traffic to PC hosting your subsonic.

Sorry guys, I wasn't specific enough with what I'm trying to accomplish. It made sense in my head, but when I read it now I realize that I left out some info.

My subsonic address is http://chris-perry.me/subsonic

When I'm logged in to the web interface and I select a song or album, I have the option to share Image

When I click share it goes in to the Shared Media section and when I hover over the share name it comes up with http://yourname.subsonic.org/share/DpNkF Image

With my previous backend hack in place I could replace yourname.subsonic.org with chris-perry.me and send the share out that way, but for some reason the hack doesn't work with v5 or v6 of subsonic.

This what I get now when I try to access the share Image

If there is anyone that has been able to share media while using a custom URL I'm curious as to what their solution was.

Thanks!
