Cannot access my server website from outside my home network

Problem Description: I cannot access my server website from outside of my home network, it works fine from home when I am on the network. I can access the server using the DSub app from anywhere, it is just the website that doesn't load from outside. I am not sure how long this has been going on, since I do not use the website very often, but it used to work. I had to change out my router a few months ago, but was able to add back the port forwarding. I have noticed the IP that resolves is different when trying to contact from within the network then from without. I do not know if that is normal or not.

Troubleshooting Steps: I have rebooted the server, my networking knowledge is pretty limited.

Playback Application and version: Standard Subsonic Web Interface

Subsonic Version: 5.3 (build 4569) – October 25, 2015

Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.8.0_73, Windows XP (59.6 MB / 85.0 MB)

Hardware Platform: Windows XP Home

Thank you for any guidance. I would love to get my web access back.

Strange.

So dSub can access your server anywhere but only web access can't?
What happens?

When on your home network: I assume Settings > Network and you see "Successfully forwarding port xx"?

If dSub is working, seems like a browser issue.
Did you try different browsers?

Correct, no problems with Dsub at all, just the web access. I have tried IE, Chrome and Firefox from multiple different computers and networks. It tries to connect, but eventually times out. It shows "successfully forwarding port 8080", but below that it shows "Status: Could not connect to "myservername".subsonic.org. (ConnectTimeoutException) "

I assume when you are on web and home, in settings, "Subsonic Premium", you see: You have a valid Subsonic Premium license!

Have you tried a different port?

I got it figured out, the port forwarding on the new router has an extra step that the old one didn't. thank for your help, tmwsiy.

Hi there! This is possibly not going to get a reply but:

I think I'm having the same issue as the OP here, and I wondered if anyone could guide me. Until recently i was running a subsonic server on an old iMac and in addition to the port forwarding, I had to set up a DMZ on my router in order to get the external access to work.

I recently switched over to a Raspberry Pi for my server, and have gone through the whole process of setting up the server (including successfully port forwarding and putting the IP address of the raspberry pi as the address for the DMZ) and yet I still cannot get the outside access to work for my server. Anyone have any guidance on what additional port forwarding steps I might need to do?

Thank you!
