Subsonic Forum

I have another mystery with this installation of Subsonic. This is a fresh install of Server 2008 and aside from the problem of the default username and password not working I notice that when I look in the subsonic folder under Thumbs - all the thumbnails I downloaded from the old XP box are there?

How on earth did they get there? I never put them there, they have just appeared and they are exactly the ones downloaded, there are no general thumbnails. At this stage I haven't even been able to log in to the subsonic web page to direct it to the music.

Any ideas on this one as it has me completely stumpted.

After a bit of investigation I have found that all the configuration settings for the original install of subsonic are unchanged. I think the issue is not at all to do with subsonic but to do with the 'fresh' install of Server 2008. This is the first install for me of Server 2008 and although I checked the box to say this was a fresh install I assumed that everything would be formatted and therefore a fresh install would take place and the original XP install would be completely wiped..

Somehow this hasn't happened and the original folders or at least the information in the folders has remained so that the new install of subsonic has picked up all the thumbnails, passwords and even the direction to the drive with the music files.

Quite interesting as it appears that no other folders or information has been retained by the system - only the subsonic information.

Anyway, it is all working now - and I really like the program, so much so that once I have everything finalised I'll make a donation to the clever bugger that created it.
