My 6 year old Windows based (now Win 10) Subsonic server has completely stopped working:

Problem Description:
- NAS shares (available until this week) show "Folder not found" error, even on drive letter mapped to NAS share
- \\wxcld-x\Music\Music worked until last week
- Access your server over internet registration not working (available earlier this week) showing "ConnectTimeoutException" error

Troubleshooting Steps:
- delete and recreate folders in subsonic using "Add Media Folder."
- change to new internet address

Playback Application and version:
- Subsonic browser

Subsonic Version:
- 6.1.1 build fc853b - May 31, 2017
License Subsonic Premium
Version 6.1.1 (build fc853b) – May 31, 2017
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.8.0_131, HSQLDB, Windows 10 (103.3 MB / 159.2 MB)

Java Memory Limit:

*** NOTE!!!

- The only change was a Windows 10 update (from MS) and Windows Defender turn on (Then turn off)

- Checked Windows Firewall - no changes - Subsonic listed as app

- No change to switches or routers

- Have updated to latest Subsonic version 6.x

- Have tried installing Subsonic on another Win 10 PC (also recently updated) with same results

- NAS share (previously working fine for some time) now shows "Folder not found" error
- tried mapping NAS drive to local letter - can access ok via explorer - but Subsonic will not recognize NAS direct access to or drive mapped access

- Server access over Internet no longer accessible
- [ Save ] on "Network" screen returns "ConnectTimeoutException" error

- Subsonic server is accessible over LAN, but not from the Internet

Hi

Was struggling with same issue myself for i while. Would not find Folder on my NAS.
The Solution though, is found in the 'getting started' documentation for subsonic under the Topic " Setting up Media folders"

Using network disks in Windows

Subsonic runs as a service on Windows. By default, mapped networks disks are not visible to services. To fix this you can change the Subsonic service to run as the logged-on user instead of the System user.

Open Services in Windows.
Right-click the Subsonic service and select Properties.
Click the Log On tab.
Activate This account and enter your Windows username and password.
Click OK and restart the service.

I also posted some instructions on how to set up a NAS. May help partly.

Sounds like some odd issues. Something definitely changed. I keep weekly image backups of my machine. IF you do I would suggest maybe restoring the complete subsonic folder from a backup first and if that does not fix then do a complete restore. Just a thought. Sometimes it's just easier to restore a backup than to troubleshoot some obscure issue that pops up out of the blue.
