index is bare

I just installed subsonic on a rasp pi v1 and should have enough configured to play music. my problem is after going thru the menus, the index device says wait a few mins. I waited 12 hours. when I go to index, page is blank. it's not a matter of user perm, the start page says I'm running the service as root. I didn't make another in subsonic until a little while ago so even as admin, no data in the index page. what would cause that type of issue?
