Kubuntu 17.04 - missing /etc/default/subsonic file

Postby vsteel » Tue Jul 18, 2017 2:37 pm

I upgraded to the newest version of Subsonic and to make sure things would work right I purged all of the previous version files. I installed per the instructions with the sudo dpkg -i subsonic-6.1.1.deb command. The server is up and running just fine on the localhost but the /etc/default/subsonic file doesn't exist. As far as I can tell everything else is there, for example the /etc/inet.d/subsonic file is there, just not the configuration file. Subsonic seems to be working normal other than it is running as root and I can't change any of the parameters. I have deleted and tried to reinstall but it just has the same results. For some reason the newest version doesn't seem to be creating that file on Ubuntu systems.

License Subsonic Premium
Version 6.1.1 (build fc853b) – May 31, 2017
Server jetty-6.1.x, java 1.8.0_131, HSQLDB, Linux (63.9 MB / 133.5 MB)

Is this a bug or am I missing that the config file has moved somewhere?

Not sure if you figured this out but it happened to me today. I was trying out subsonic, decided I wanted to try madsonic, and after removing and installing madsonic, I came back to subsonic.

Long story short, downloaded a new .deb installer and the /etc/default/subsonic file didn't get installed. I eventually just went to the source code on source forge and copied the template file onto my system and it seems to be working fine.
