Help with permissions on folders created by Subsonic uploads

Postby soonerrob » Mon Apr 20, 2009 7:56 pm

Hello,

I am not sure if my problem is a Subsonic issue or a OS issue.

Im running Subsonic on a FreeNAS server.

Anytime I upload a zip file remotely from the upload feature I have an issue.

Here is what I do:

1) I create a zip file that has the Artist as the top folder and then a Album subfolder with all the songs... this is the structure of the zip file.

2) I upload the zip file to my Root music folder... meaning the Artist and Album folders are going to be created inside the root folder when Subsonic unzips the zip file.

3) Everything works perfectly

The problem arises when I get home and try to manage these folders from my XP machine via Windows Explorer thru my LAN.

All of the folders created by the unzipping and all of the mp3s inside the zip get file permissions of 644, meaning I can only manipulate these files if I am working directly from the machine running FreeNAS/Subsonic.

I need to know what I need to change so that any folders created by subsonic get 755 permission so I can manipulate files/folders from my XP machine thru the network.

Thanks in advance for any help.
