Trouble Setting Up Media Folders, NAS Drive, MAC

I am on a MAC, my files are on a shared drive on a NAS device. I connect to that device on the MAC using smb.
I have tried all variations on the path name to the network folders in the media folders page, but nothing has worked.
For example:
//192.168.1.6/MUSIC
smb:/192.168.1.6/MUSIC
Any suggestions welcome!
