Remote access comes and goes

I just re-installed subsonic on my PC and over the past few months remote access to my media files has been spotty. It will work for a few weeks and then, like now, server access times out. Access through my local network always works. It was working with Windows Firewall on but then stopped working. I just turned off Windows Firewall and it made no difference. I would appreciate some tips on how to debug this.

I'm not sure who owns 52.95.61.104 but that's apparently where it's getting hung up.

What does Subsonic tell you?
Settings >> Network >> Use ceksubplayer.subsonic.org
You should see a registered succeful message.

The address that the paid version of Subsonic grants you is a domain redirection and not a domain registration. So there's no MX records.
Whenever you try to resolve your subsonic.org adress it will always come up with the ip-adress 52.51.15.224.

Trying to reach that adress gives me an error telling me that it takes too long for http://174.109.79.0:4040/ to react.
But 174.109.79.0 is an ip-adress which normally wouldn't be used by any DHCP-server.
I suggest you take a look at the routersettings where you configured your portforwarding.
I'd also check if 174.109.79.0 really is your external Ip-adress by visiting a site like http://whatismyip.com. Since they only tell you the IPv6-adress you can also use http://test-ipv6.com/.
This site tells you the IPv6 and IPv4 notation.

Thanks for your help. I thought the program had automatically set up port forwarding but there was no entry in my router. I added port 4040 and that fixed it. Odd that it worked sometimes without port forwarding turned on in the router.
