Can't view video files in browser

I am not able to see my video files (.avi) in my browser. I can successfully upload a video and when I click on my video link on the left sidebar I get a blank page. Is there something I need to do to view videos in Subsonic? So far I've only played music.

While logged in as a user with administrative privileges, go to Settings > General. Add the filetype of the video files you're trying to add with the other filetypes Subsonic is filtering for in the list. I don't have my server up today, otherwise I'd give you a screenshot of the exact screen I'm talking about.

I do have the filetypes added that I'm trying to see. What is strange though is when I click the link on the left sidebar where I have my videos it will not display them. When I do a search for the file it will display it, but I cannot get it to play. Any thoughts?

Sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. It sounds like you're trying to play actual video files in the player, and while I've seen some folks on here talking about getting it working (through transcoding files to other, more easily streamed formats), I haven't seen a straightforward guide to getting it working.

I wish I could tell you what to do, but I'm looking for a way to do this myself.
