New Install on Ubuntu Server 16.04 Not Working

Installed openjdk 9 JRE (7 isn't available), downloaded and installed latest Subsonic *.deb

Go to http://localhost:4040....... nothing there. It seems to be sort of doing something as I get URL-redirected to /login.view;jsessionid=###abc

But the page is blank.

I tried installing Open JDK 7 and rebooting the server. Still no. Blank screen in the web browser (Midori)

Found the log file in /var/subsonic

So subsonic does seem to be working, but nothing coming up in the browser.

Sorry for stream of conscious post - hope there is an easy fix. Really want to try this thing.

I found a forum post with a similar issue that was solved by uninstalling Java and using the official JRE 8.

That got me started down the right path at least. It took an hour more of poking around until I finally got the Subsonic control panel to come up.

Your Linux install instructions should be updated to tell users to use JRE 8.
