I tried the dpkg -i subsonic.deb command and get the following error:

dpkg: error processing subsonic.deb (--install):
cannot access archive: No such file or directory
Errors were encountered while processing:
subsonic.deb

Don't know if you solved this but see this link for some helpful guidance for an Ubuntu install:

If I follow those steps, will I need to setup my setting again or will this just update subsonic.

Thanks for your help

It should update subsonic - I've done this several times without mishap. However, as a precaution, I usually take a copy of subsonic.properties and the subsonic db folder. That way, if anything does go wrong, I can recreate my settings without any drama
