WAP Version

Postby Ikyo » Sat Dec 17, 2005 11:33 pm

Have you done much testing with the WAP version of the program? I did a small bit of testing and had soem issues with getting the stream to play. I never could get Windows Media Player on my phone to play it. I had to use GSPlayer.

I don't have a 3G phone, so I have actually never tried to stream to a phone. However, this might well be one of the most important features of Subsonic in the future. Just think about all the people walking around with both a mobile phone and an iPod.

I am therefore very interested to hear from people who have experimented with this! What kind of phone do you have? Did GSPlayer work satisfactorily?

Yeah, GSPlayer finally could stream the audio from it, but I would rather have ti be streamable in Windows Media Player. Is there nay way to create a playlist and do the URL like: hostname/subsonic/stream/playlistname ?

I agree - there should be an option to load a previously saved playlist. But I think it would be more user-friendly to make the playlists available from the wap menus, rather than typing it in the url.

I'll try to squeeze this into the next release.

That would be awesome. I have noticed some issues with Windows Media Player not know what link to use. I have tried put in streaming.mp3 and it still doesn't like it.
