Playback Very Choppy On Outside Networks

So, I do use a VPN (PIA), but use one of their servers with an open port in order to stream music from Subsonic. I have not had any trouble for a year until recently. Every time I listen from either iSub or the Subsonic server site outside my local network, it's like the songs aren't downloading fast enough and the music will stop, wait to download some more, stop, wait to download some more, etc. What could be causing this? It's super frustrating!

If you haven't changed anything on your Subsonic server, I'd say that yourISP or VPN service provider has changed some things.
Perhaps they are throttling your bandwidth?
Ever tried to bypass the VPN to check if that solves the problem?

Thanks for the reply! I switched the PIA server I was on because it was definitely throttled. I was only getting 5mbps download as opposed to my normal 85-90. Crazy!

So I guess that solved your problem.
Sometimes we just overlook the most obvious solution.
