100% CPU for subsonic-service

Postby wuebbel » Sun Feb 03, 2019 2:27 pm

I'm running subsonic premium for years on an ancient netbook that was just recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. The subsonic version was still 4.something, so I thought it was a good idea to update subsonic as well, to 6.1.5. However, the load for subsonic-service is now 100% even when it is idle. Stopping the service solves the problem.

After the update, subsonic complained that the database had to be rescanned, which I found ok. However, even after the scan was finished, load remained high. According to the logfile subsonic\subsonic.log, nothing is running. There is a second log in subsonic/db/subsonic.log, which is quickly filling up after service start. Runing a couple of minutes now, it already has a size of 100 kb filled with

/*C1005*/SET SCHEMA PUBLIC
CONNECT USER SA
DISCONNECT

1000 messages in about 10 minutes...

Also, looking at the process in Process Explorer, it seems that the service is continuously spawning very short-lived threads.

Any ideas?

Best wishes, Frank
