MediaScannerService Failed to scan media library.

Postby mroell » Tue May 07, 2019 10:21 pm

Subsonic is running on a Windows 10 machine with the standard install defaults. All of my playlists are empty, however they show the correct number of songs. When looking at "All" only a few albums/songs are available. I tried to run a "Scan media folders" but it fails with the following:

[5/7/19 3:02:36 PM PDT] INFO NetworkService Successfully forwarding port 4040.

At this point I'm not sure the best way to resolve the issue.

Thanks,

Matt

Antivirus?

On the other Hand, on my System I have 250.000 Music Titles and a lots of Videos. A scan lasts only a couple of minutes. Export your playlists (in my System I can't find them) and do a new setup, if you don't have to much user.

I don't know why, but it seems that the Linux logfiles are much more informative.

I just preformed a new install, I remove all Subsonic files/folders (I don't care about the playlists). Yeah I know that Linux has more logs then windows does, I found very little information in the Windows Event Viewer. Normally I use Linux, however the RAID card that I'm using doesn't have great support for Linux.

If you are having W10Pro you can install a VM in Hyper-V and Linux can access the Raid.
I'm running W10P at a i7 /16 GB Ram. 4GB for a Ubuntu VM with direct attached SD to the VM, is running 24/7 with Nextcloud without problems
