Can't connect to https or from work

I have been using http for years on 4040 I noticed that recently if I am outside of my house and not connected to wifi I cant connect to Subsonic. Like when I am at work. I am on Windows 10. So I started to look into the issue and can't figure it out. That's one problem.
The second problem is I thought that maybe I should go to https so I followed the instructions and set the tray icon to https on 4343 and restarted Subsonic and that isn't working at all. Even on my local network over wifi I have been looking on Google to find out how to fix it but I can't seem to find an answer. All that works right now is http over the local network. I am on a verizon fios router (Which is Frontier now) and figured I should look at that and I can see the http port configuration. So I tried to manually add the https but that didn't help either. I don't see in Subsonic on the Network tab where you set it up for https only http. I am not a network guru so I can't seem to figure it out.
Wouldn't https be more secure than http? And if so how do I make it so I can connect when I am at work. It used to be fine. I looked at the firewall and its listed so I don't know what the issue is.
