So, how does the chromecast feature work?

I don't see the chromecast button in the interface.

A work around:
* enable dlna
* install https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... ckandshare on your phone

If you use subsonic under docker one must specify '--net=host' and ensure appropriate routing is applied at one's router.

I can stream to chromecast devices from the web interface and from my Android phone (I use dsub). In subsonic settings dsub streaming to chromecast shows as a separate player, so as my music collection is all flac encode, I set to stream direct (no transcoding).

Hi. Not sure if I've posted to the right place but I am having a Chromecast problem (among other things) with Subsonic. I downloaded Subsonic a few days ago, and not being familiar with servers, understanding it was not easy for me. However, yesterday I upgraded to Premium because the ability to stream to Chromecast is very important to me. Until this morning, the Chromecast icon was not visible but it just suddenly appeared. All my streaming options are shown as available but I cannot get anything to stream. As soon as Chromecast connects, the track stops playing in Subsonic and the play buttons become dead. If I connect before playing a track, the same thing happens with the play buttons. I have checked and I can stream music via Chromecast from YouTube, so this would not seem to be a Chromecast problem.
I am using an Acer laptop running Windows 10, and have got the same problem on Brave and Chrome browsers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think Subsonic could be a great server for me but not without Chromecast I am afraid.

i'll have to test things a bit again re: chromecast. it had been problematic for a time because Subsonic was pulling an out of date library from google. that seemed to get fixed later on, I *think*. hard to remember.

I did code chromecast into several of the SubFire web apps (M2 and Dash at least), but I haven't tested it in a while so I need to go back and make sure it is still working. i'll follow up on that later today.

There's definitely a bug - I think the receiver software for subsonic (the main web UI) is not working anymore (probably out of date to latest protocols). I'm seeing the submarine icon show up, but it doesn't start playing after that.

SubFire M2 chromecast is still working, both off of phones (it can be added as a ProgressiveWebApp) and in the browser. https://subfiresuite.com/m2/ or http://subfiresuite.com/m2/, depending on if your server is secure or not. It uses the default built-in receiver. update - partially working. I'm not getting time updates from the device, which means it doesn't necessarily figure out when a song ends and it needs to flip to the next track.

However, it does require the subsonic license to use apps.
