Apps will not load folders, Subsonic Error

Hi,
I have been using the iSub app on my iPhone for nearly a year. It has always worked well until recently.
When I recently added several new artist folders, and did a loading function on my phone, it takes a long time, and comes back with "Subsonic Error - The request Timed out".

I bought another app play:sub, since iSub is not really being supported beyond IOS update fixes, thinking that maybe a recent iPhone update broke it.

Same problem. Also does not work Substreamer, same sort of issue.

I went to my older phone, which has an older version of IOS, thinking that the apps broke, not uncommon. Same Timeout error.

The playlists show up, and load just find when I refresh them, but that is painful way to play music, which I want random access to in the best case scenario.

Anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Can it be fixed?

It could be a Mac OSX problem, in which case I may need to reformat and reinstall the OS, Subsonic, and all of the music files (65K worth mind you!), not a fun prospect at all.

I have been running all of this time, on an old iMac, running Yosemite. As I said, it has all been running fine until this issue popped up out of the blue.

Any help would be truly appreciated.

I sure would like a solution.

Just send you the data for an Test Account. If that is working you're circle for failure is smaller. Imho the router and port forwarding is a common problem, Firewall and/or Antivirus. DS lite iPv6 @ Kabel Provider is worst case ...

Regards from Bavaria ;-)

Edit: you can add in play:sub a second server ... and delete it later :-)

Hi,

I truly appreciate your effort, and the kindness of your reply.

I have not tried your URL yet, but I have tried to connect from within my home network, and it still is not loading folder information.

I tried the play:sub app too, using the local IP address, not the port forwarded address, and it acts differently, still wrong, and no folder listing at all, though it did show album titles only.

I am almost 100% certain that the trouble is the Subsonic software, and/or possibly the host iMac , not my router or anythig like that. It all used to work before for about nearly a year.

All web access works fine through the port forwarding.

My friend regularly connects at their place of work, and they listen via the Subsonic web interface most of the day weekdays.

Possibly something is amiss with the API that allows device access, at least that is my guess.

Best wishes.

Hi,

play:Sub developer here...
If you create a temporary test account, I would be happy to take a look at why play:Sub doesn't load the folders.
Send the account details either via DM in this forum or using the in-app support email.

/M

same thing with me.
start it on subsonic version 5.x and version 6.x
I make a few tests by calling the API and the error is the same: "timeout" on acessing large folders

My DB:

8.063 Artists
26.702 Albuns
489.670 Musics
4584,79 GB (~ 34.054 hours)
