subsonic running in a 'jail' on FreeNAS (Debian)

Postby soundfreak » Sun Apr 26, 2020 12:00 pm

Hello,
I'm very familiar with FreeNAS (Debian) systems, now I'm running Subsonic on a Windows Server but like to have it running in a so called 'jail' in FreeNAS.
Has anyone experience with this if it's possible? Thanks everyone for the comments.

A Jail for Windows is a virtual machine. I'm not so familiar with the server Versions, there are still a lot of different. But in most cases you are having Hyper-V you have just to activate it, I'm running Ubuntu 18.04LTS with Nextcloud and Airsonic in Hyper-V, it is also available in Windows Pro. It is easy to set up ... VMware Player, or VirtualBox is another option. I prefer Hyper-V because it is more narrow to the Windows System.
A so called Sandbox can probably do the same, but I have not tried.

There are a lots of tutorials at YT or just use your search engine
