Good isolation, my global companions [by which I mean u r safe & healthy],

To forestall most questions, I FULLY admit to being - sequentially - dense, stupid, ignorant of computers, an uneducated reader and too lazy to plow thru 71,000+ "help" offerings.

ALL I want to do is stream/send/transmit video & music files FROM my computer TO my ROUTER then TO my TV. Sumone PLEASE tell me which keys to depress so video & music file follow this traverse.

That depends what TV you are using .... there are different ways.

One way is the upnp/dlna server you can activate in settings, BUT there are plenty tv's out there with limited codecs integrated and you can't add or update. A lot of TV's can't decode MKV Container. Also ALAC or FLAC lossless is in my case, Samsung TV 6years old a problem.
Another way may be a better choice if your TV has a web browser, then you can probably use the share option and open the path in the Browser, but that is not very handy without keyboard and may also limited but in that case subsonic is transcoding the stream.
the 3rd option is a work around, most of newer TV's are able to receive via Airplay and there are a lot of programms that can stream the sound and videos of your PC via Airplay to the TV, at windows there is one Program that I'm using for music called shairport4w but it is also (or similar) available for linux.

Also there are a couple of (Android) sticks or TV boxes for round about 20$ where you have direct connection to the Network drives, or a raspberry with Kodi which will also work with a lot of mentioned sticks

Thanks for ur reply.

I have zero facility to understand ur information.

I was using CyberLink PowerDVD. Of course, it mysteriously stopped working 1 day, just like WINDOWS. They have no Tech Supp, that can proffer help. All I had to do, in PowerDVD, was click on a file, PLAY TO my ROKU and done.

I have added SS to my ROKU menu and it says CONNECTED, etc. Can I use SS with equal ease?

Sorry, I don't know what Roku is. I have searched for it and it seems that is a multimedia TV Box, so it should be able to find the subsonic DLNA Server.
I guess if you activate in subsonic settings the DLNA Server you should find it at Roku.
