Subsonic doesn't recognize diacritics during media scan

EDIT: Fixed the issue by adding export LANG=en_US.UTF-8 to subsonic.sh

<-------------------------Subsonic Help Request---------------------->
Problem Description: Subsonic was not recognizing a subfolder during the media scan, "Kankyō Ongaku", which i found out was because of the "ō" character (no idea why though). I changed that letter to a regular "o" and media scan was able to recognize the folder and it's contents. Following this, I also found a few other albums that are not showing because of this, such as "2017 - Prophecy of Ragnarök". I am unsure whether this a problem on subsonic server side or something in my environment, but i have no idea how to check it.
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Changed to a non-diacritic character
Playback Application and version: Subsonic default webplayer
Subsonic Version: 6.1.6 (build 0cfa60) – November 10, 2019
Server Version: jetty-6.1.x, java 1.8.0_252, HSQLDB, FreeBSD (75.8 MB / 456.0 MB)
Hardware Platform: FreeNAS 11.3-U3.1, inside Iocage jail. Using standalone installation
Java Memory Limit: 456
Problem Filename: filenames containing diacritics.
Output from ffmpeg -i:

If anyone has any idea how to fix this, i'd be super grateful, as I really don't want to change album names.

Read this ..

https://www.praim.com/en/news/character ... -iso-8859/

and if your environment is not using UTF-8 try to change it ...
read here
https://perlgeek.de/en/article/set-up-a ... nvironment

in most cases not using UTF-8 is causing the problem.

Probably something to do with this. But i checked and the whole system seems to be running on UTF-8....perhaps something in subsonic configuration?

No it's not a subsonic fault, or configuration. It is Linux based.
I know this problem very well, because I'm german ä,ö,ü,ß and having a couple of russian files, they look like normal english, but they are not.
I'm mounting windows drives to Ubuntu in fstab the mount string I have added,iocharset=utf8 and that is working for me
BUT here another hint
