Unencrypted password/email address not accepted

Postby bluecatman » Fri Sep 11, 2020 1:38 pm

Hi. I've only just downloaded Subsonic so please excuse me if I appear to be an idiot :D
Firstly, when I just tried to log in, Bitdefender threw up a warning that it had blocked the page because my password would be transmitted in plain text - i.e. unencrypted. I created a temporary exception in Bitdefender. What is causing this problem?
Secondly, when registering. Subsonic would not accept my live.com email address, so I had to use a secondary address. I don't get this problem elsewhere so how can I get around it with Subsonic and use my live.com address?
Thanks for your help.

It is always a good idea to read the informations at subsonic web site.
The warning you mentioned is comming up because subsonic is using by default http and not https. You can simply ignore that if you are having an unique password for subsonic and don't store the informations of your credit card inside subsonic ;-)
further informations read here, it is not easy to have SSL (https) at windows, the certificate needs a renew from time to time.
