Artist list does not show

When I setup a new user on my server they do not see the artist list on the left side. The links at the top of the page (Random, Recently Added, etc.) all work and everything plays, so the media library is being correctly loaded.

When I look at the log, I see this at the end of the rescan:

I am not sure if that is related, or there is another reason why I would not be able to browse by artist.

I *think* if you go to settings...Personal then there's a tick-box 'Show index on left panel'.

Maybe ?
