Music Files Scanned but Not Appearing

Using SS 6.1.6 on a Win10 box.

After running Subsonic successfully for years, I ran into some issues a couple of months ago and finally got most of them squared away. At this point Subsonic recognizes the path to the directory where my music files live. It now also recognizes my playlists which are exported from MusicBee.

1- Subsonic successfully completes manual and scheduled scans of the media folders. It shows in excess of 36,000 songs, which is correct. But not a single one of them shows when I look at the home screen of the GUI.

2- Subsonic successfully completes scans of my .pls playlists. They show up in the playlist tab of the GUI. But each track within each playlist shows a "missing." Which is understandable since there are no tracks showing in the home screen despite all of them seemingly being scanned.

3- I can only connect to the GUI via localhost, or the local IP for the PC on which the server is installed. For all those many years of using Subsonic successfully, I connected directly though the WAN IP address (which is dynamic but hadn't changed in more than ten years) along with port forwarding to the local PC where the server lives. Port forwarding is now enabled. The outside IP address has been the same since last August. Other protocols connect to it and are port forwarded. Which is causing me to scratch my head as to why Subsonic can't do the same. The log shows one line that says "[3/26/21 2:26:33 PM EDT] WARN NetworkService Failed to create port forwarding."

If I can get number one resolved, number two will follow without doing anything else.

It's number three that's got me baffled.

Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

Numbers one and two are resolved. Simple, but stupid user error. Under User Settings I failed to enable "Allow access to these media folders."

Now all I need is for number three to get resolved. Perhaps I'll have an epiphany soon. Or someone with more insight than I will have the answer.

Number three is now resolved. Despite the firewall in my router being configured properly, my software firewall (ESET) was blocking it. All is now good.

I'm Using SS 6.1.6 on a Win2012 Server box as well

I've running Subsonic successfully for month now locally , plan to do streaming to myself though https://naspaul.dyndns.com so far was working ok

I ran into some issues to automatically create playlsit , the Music directory is ok E:\Music where my music files live. It now also recognizes all of my playlists created mannually , which i use also in MusicBee/ AV Sub (iphone).

2- Should i create Subsonic .pls playlists or m3u?

I also found this script : https://keestalkstech.com/2014/02/creat ... owershell/

to create Playlist with powershell , however still not working , something related to the $Path or so

Function GenerateM3U {
# generate m3u in a different directory:
GenerateM3U "./coldplay" "E:\Music\" "Coldplay*.mp3"

Thanks for any advice anyone can provide.

FWIW, all my playlists are in .m3u8 format, just truncated to only look like:

Code: Select all
#EXTM3U
\\DX21NAS\Multimedia\Music\J\Johnny O\1989 - Johnny O\01 - Fantasy Girl.mp3
\\DX21NAS\Multimedia\Music\S\Stevie B\1998 - Best Of Stevie B\06 - Spring Love.mp3
\\DX21NAS\Multimedia\Music\C\Cynthia\2001 - Cynthia's Greatest Hits\01 - Change On Me.mp3
\\DX21NAS\Multimedia\Music\L\Lil Suzy\1991 - Love Can't Wait\07 - Take Me In Your Arms.mp3
\\DX21NAS\Multimedia\Music\M\Melendez, Lisette\1991 - Together Forever\01 - Together Forever.mp3

They work just fine for me.
