Media folders not showing / Index tab empty

I have my media folders not showing at all so I can't navigate to them.
My settings menu is also missing a lot of options...
This is all I have:

Personal | Passwords | Players | Shared Media | Subsonic Premium

Normally it shows a lot more than that including media folder options.

Ok so Im gonna reply to myself because I solved my issue.

First of all I was very confused thinking my options from Settings were missing, but apparently I had to log in as admin to see them all and manage this. (I had forgotten because it's been long)

Second, once logged in as admin, even though I had all the options, the Index tab was still showing empty and I wouldn't have access to my own music.
With some tinkering, like setting the media folder to different things, and re-scanning, I was able to get everything back! Now when I set the folder I had originally set it to, it works fine. So maybe something caused a bug somewhere.

There's also something weird going on. Which I probably knew but forgot, if I have a folder that contains a song with Japanese text, it will not "give me permission" to go in there... so I cannot have songs like that at the root folder.
