Some songs won't play... kind of

I came across an album in my collection that wouldn't play when I hit play. It would just sit at 0:00. If i hit play the button would change to pause graphic but the ticker wouldn't move forward or play the song.

If I click somewhere in the song manually, it will play from that point just fine. Otherwise the song just won't start. It's starting as an mp3 and I get the behavior whether I have a max bitrate for the user or not. Player and server are both Windows Vista 32.

I have seen weird issues with special characters in the song title like Umlauts (spelling?) and the song not playing. I would check that first and maybe encode the song again in case there is just an issue with that song.
