Apache-Tomcat Link doesn't work on Qnap TS 219

Postby kleinfeld » Thu Jul 30, 2009 10:11 pm

Hello,
I'm really interested in using subsonic on my Qnap TS219.
I've installed Java SDK as well as Apache/Tomcat. I have enabled Apache Tomcat in the QPKG section. But when cliciking on the link http://mynas.dyndns.org:8085/ I get a page error. I do have port 8085 forwarded... Anyone who can help me out?
Thanks!
Tim

The same bloody problem.
I guess our NAS models does not support Tomcat server (i mean CPU doesn`t)
The only way is standalone installation having edited subsonic.sh.
My first attempt was unsuccessfull, but I think I know reason. I haven`t noticed any signs of installed java in bin directory on our 219P, so will try to figure out how to solve problem.
Any help, will be usefull.
regards

Hi!
I have read a little bit about our 219...
Reason: We have a ARM MARVELL CPU

The Java and the Tomcat package would be installed fine over the OPKG Installer but the Java is not working!! The OPKG JAVA is only for x86 based systems. :?

I have installed the newest Firmware V3 on my 219 and it looks like Apache is installed (not Apache Tomcat).
This is not enough for subsonic - it need the Tomcat and a Java installation.

I found this:
http://forum.synology.com/wiki/index.php/Java_for_Marvell_mv5281_ARM-based_Synology_Products
...now I search the answer for:
Is Tomcat working with "JamVM" and Subsonic too?

Does anybody know?

JamVM -- A compact Java Virtual Machine
JamVM - impressive VM, runs tomcat without problems, even eclipse works. All in less than 1/2 M. Speed is decent for simple use. And it supports ARM - so I can play with java and tomcat on my toys.
