Yes added this. -Dsubsonic.home=e:/subsonic I had posted about.

When I Install Subsonic on another drive that is not c drive it gives me problems. For example in the install it says.
ERROR OPENING FILE FOR WRITING:
C:\SUBSONIC\TRANSCODE\README.TXT
ABORT RETRY OR IGNORE.

The problem is that my windows is located in my E:\ drive not c: So I then how can I get this working. This happens even though I said it to install in my e:\program files\subsonic

So then he told me to do this.

If you look under -->> Program Files\subsonic there is a file named subsonic-service.exe.vmoptions

Open that file with a text editor (I prefer Notepad++) and add the below line at the end of the file.

-Dsubsonic.home=d:/subsonic

of course you can make it e:/subsonic or whatever you full path is.

Hit Save and Reboot

Thats all I have done

I tried http://localhost and it changes it to http://localhost/index.view Just so you know I clicked on Server address in the subsonic control panel. I even tried 127.0.0.1 and same thing. Also port 80 because its not being used. I even tried another port and same issue.

I was having the exact same error.

I am running Trend as antivirus on the box.
I had to turn av off, uninstall, reinstall to c:\subsonic and it works now.

Try disabling your AV, and see if that helps.
Worked for me
