5.1 or Surround or Prologic or whatever

Recently attached my media PC to a 5.1 DTS capable system using an optical cable.
With Winamp, I only get sound out of the center speaker. Does anyone know of a possible sol'n to getting (fake) surround sound, or any recommendations for players that might work better in my situation?

what do you mean, "know of any player"? suround or prologic in subsonic is not possible afaik.
this should be in the "general" subforum, since its not related to a specific problem in subsonic, therefore it doesnt quite fit in the "help" subforum.

With my Sony 5.1 DTS receiver I change the receiver to 2-channel stereo when playing music from Subsonic. I don't recall if it only plays out the center channel if it's on the 5.1 setting, but it sounds pretty good on 2-channel stereo.

I was looking for something that would 'upscale' the stereo to a surround signal.
I found a winamp plugin (DFX) that does this pretty well. I also tried VLC, but it's doing the play for 5 seconds and stop stuff.
