Hostname Question

Hi, I've got subsonic working on my LAN (the application is fantastic by the way, many thanks)

However, I can only access the app by IP address, when I try to replace the IP with it's hostname in my browser, it fails.

eg. http://192.168.0.2:8180/subsonic - works fine

but

http://jukebox:8180/subsonic - does not I get: can't establish a connection to the server at jukebox:8180.

I can ping the machine by hostname, but for some reason cannot connect to subsonic using it. Is this a network issue or is there a configuration file I need to change to allow connection by hostname?

thanks,

Hi,

That's most likely a network issue. There is no hostname-related configuration in Subsonic (or Tomcat, as far as I know).

Thanks for the reply, it turned out to be a local DNS issue which is now fixed :D
