Some MP3 do not play - error reading MP3 information

Some of my Mp3 collection has serious issues:

1. Click on certain albums, it will say "Loading..." but take several minutes to load the song information, if it loads at all.

2. If/when said songs do load, information is absent for those MP3 files that Subsonic was apparently "stuck" on (length, bitrate, year). These Mp3 files with the missing information will NOT play (please see the screenshot below for example).

3. Sometimes you CAN load the song into the player, and you can see the load bar progress, but the track does not play.

I'm pretty sure it's a glitch with the MP3 files, not Subsonic's fault, but has anyone else run into this issue and know what causes it to occur? I hate having to re-encode/acquire music due to corruption :x, so thanks to any helpful ideas.

You should post some more information from your log files. It could be the header that is corrupted - unfortunately re-econding MP3s is another loss in quality... . Try loading it into a tool like mp3tag http://www.mp3tag.de and maybe just re-tag the tracks.

Re-tag

I just tried re-tagging some of the bad files using mp3tag. I also tried MP3 Repair Tool, to no avail. They still have bad/missing encoder information with 00:00 length time.

I do notice that all of the bad tracks for this one album show up as ID3v2.2 whereas all the good tracks that work are ID3v2.3, which is interesting...

My guess is that we're seeing another limitation of the Subsonic tag parser Entagged.

True, but we're also seeing some heavily corrupted MP3s... . ;)
