Try increasing the allocated memory for Subsonic :)
On Windows you do it via the system-tray icon
On Linux you do it in subsonic.sh

What's an appropriate setting for about 90k mp3s?

Oh that all depends on your system. I think a lot of people are using 128 or 256. You should ask yourself how much of the system memory would you like to dedicate to Subsonic.. Is Subsonic the only thing running on the server.. And so on.

There's a lot of dependencies to make the best choice, so my advise is trial and error :)

I changed it to 256MB and it seems to work now. Thanks!
