Error Parsing Document on Android App

I've got Subsonic successfully installed and operating on my local PC and can access the web interface via any browser, including on my G1 via 3G. However, when I try to access the server using the Subsonic Music Streaming app I get an error message saying:

"Connection Error. Error parsing document. (position: line - 1, column - 1,) caused by: org.apache.harmony.xml. ExpatParser$ParseException: At line 31, column 2: mismatched tag"

Any ideas?

That's most likely a configuration issue. Could you please answer the following:

o What version of the Subsonic server have you installed. You need 3.8.beta1 or later.
o Does the Android app work with the Subsonic Demo server?
o Do you get the same error using 3G and Wifi?
o What exactly have you specified in the server address field in the settings?

Cheers,
Sindre

Thanks Sindre!

I installed the 3.8beta1 version and am now able to successfully access my media using the Android app.

However, I can not play the media via the Android app (HTC Dream). I am able to view and download media via Subsonic, but when I try to play a song, it pulls the album art and gives me a notification that looks like the song is playing, but nothing actually happens. The same thing happens when I download a song, it pulls the album art and gives me a notification that looks like the song is playing, but nothing actually happens.

Maybe I have the the player settings in the server set up incorrectly?

I'm usually not this dense, I just really want this application to work for me!

I get the same error as mentioned in the first post. My configuration is like this:

Subsonic 3.8b1
The App does work with the demo server (no problem at all)
Wifi or 3G doesn't make a difference
Address field: http://thuis.hugodejong.net

I use an HTC Hero with Android 1.5.

Whoops, installed 3.7 instead of 3.8b1, problem solved :)
