I am running Ubuntu Karmic (9.10), and just upgraded Subsonic from 3.8 Beta to 3.8. Now scrobbling to Last.fm is broken. I can see in the log that the scrobbler service is successfully registering submissions for each track, but nothing shows up at Last.fm.

Am I the only person having this problem, or is this a known issue? If so, has anybody downgraded to the 3.8 Beta and did it fix the problem?

Same here. Had to check, but works fine.
@precipitous: Same thing for all tracks? None show up as Now Playing?

I was able to "fix" scrobbling. The problem ended up being that I had added a line to my etc/hosts file to scrobble to libre.fm. I had understood that I would then be able to scrobble to both last.fm and libre.fm simultaneously, but that was not the case. I removed the line and all returned to normal.

Just discovered transcoded music doesn't seem to scrobble properly. Transcoded .m4as[yellow] are logging as registered submissons (but never show up on last.fm), whilst mp3s[green] are both registering as submissions and 'now playing'.
Anyone else seeing this?

Are the songs that are not scrobbled m4a files? I know that these don't scrobble correctly much to my dismay and so they will show up in your log but never correctly register in Last.fm

I can confirm that - native MP3s scrobble perfectly fine for me. Transcoded m4a's (faad -> mp3) might show up for a short time as Now Playing on last.fm, then disappear completely never to be seen again.
