i can access subsonic from my computer and everything, but i cant figure out how to get my android phone to stream it. i cant figure out how to get my server address right. i have tried port forwarding and everything. I feel really stupid, i just cant figure it out.

I just really need some solid help to tell me how to set it up. I have searched the web for hours and havent found a single site that gave me some solid information on how to get it working.

There are a couple of things to keep in mind. If you're using wi-fi in your house, your phone will be on the INSIDE of your network. If you're using 3g or edge, your phone will be on the OUTSIDE of your network.

If you're on the INSIDE of the network (wi-fi), you can use the local ip address of the computer running subsonic (something like 192.168.1.#) and the port you have configured and everything should work fine without the need to forward ports.

If you're on the OUTSIDE of the network, you need to know the ip address of your internet connection (usually the router's WAN address if you have a router). You also need to forward the port from the internet to your machine running subsonic. In my case I forward port 8080 to 10.1.1.40 since that's the port and internal address for my server. Then you setup subsonic on android to connect to your internet address at home on the port that's forwarded.

There are a few ways to get your internet ip address... you can login to your router and look at WAN address on the status page, or go to a website like this http://www.whatismyip.com/

Once you get everything going, you can setup a service like dyndns (www.dyndns.com) to give your home machine a proper DNS name... that way you can put your DNS name into subsonic on android and it'll know where to go. Basically if your WAN address changes and dyndns is configured correctly (on your router, or server machine) it'll update the ip address so you can remember just a name.

Hope that helps...
