Error parsing document - DROID

Error:
Error parsing document. (position:line -1, column -1) caused by: org.apache.harmony.xml. ExpatParser$ParseException: At line 31, column 2: mismatched tag.

I get the above error on my driod cell phone when I run subsonic. This is THE app that I would very much be willing to pay for if I could just get it to work.

Here's what I have:
* On my PC: Subsonic 3.8 version (build 1130)
* On my DRIOD: Subsonic version 1.1

Here's what I can do:
* Access my subsonic personal webserver from a PC connected to the internet; both from a local host as well as from a remote computer.
* Access the subsonic DEMO server from my DROID phone.

Here's what I canNOT do:
* Access my person webserver from my DRIOD phone.

Here's what I have done:
* Tried to access personal webserver using just 3G - same error.
* Tried to access personal webserver using just WiFi - same error.
* Turned off all tags in settings - same error.
* Tried accessing webserver from phone using several different USERS which I created - same error.
* Changed or turned off most settings - same error.
* Reinstalled Subsonic APP on the phone - same error.
* Reinstalled Subsonic webserver app on the PC - same error.
* Tried emailing the developer - no response.

Other info:
* Running Windows Vista Ultimate - 64 bit OS
* Using a no-ip address for dynamic dns
* My personal Subsonic server address for phone: http://personal.no-ip.org/subsonic/wap
* Tried accessing content from both a NAS as well as root drive - same error

I'm at a loss at this point and about ready to give up... but thought I'd give it one more shot on the forum before I uninstall and look for a different solution.

Hope someone can help.

Regards,
Patrick

I was able to fix my issue. This is how I fixed it:

* Changed subsonic Control Panel setting (on the server computer) "Context Path" from "/" to "/Subsonic"

* On the motot droid: changed the server path from "http://personal.com/subsonic/wap" to "http://personal.com/subsonic"

Problem solved. Works awesome! Payment coming... :D

Glad to hear that it works. I was just about to answer you. The "/wap" part is a different mobile phone interface and shouldn't be used for the Android app.

Happy listening,

Same basic problem HELP!

I have the same basic problem though a few parameters are different.

I have an HTC Droid Eris phone.

The error is the same except it is at ..."line 10, column 2: mismatched tag"

I tried switching the server Context path but that resulted in not being able to reach my server using the computer, in addition to the error on my phone.

I love using Subsonic and got the phone, in part, because of the Android app. How do I get this to work!!

cthulhu, did you note this part of the solution?

Jigsaw, thanks for the help but I knew enough that I wouldn't be using the WAP. Any other suggestions?

SOLVED!

Finally having a little time to mess around with the settings I found that I DID NOT need to change the context path from "/" but that changing the server address on the phone to the numerical url plus port did the trick (and with no need to further add the subsonic directory). I am using no-ip.org for host redirecting and the using the no-ip.org hostname was throwing the error noted above.

While there still seem to be some performance issues that I will now research, the Android app seems to be working solidly if not perfectly. I am very happy how things are shaping up and will drop in another donation.

I am having the same problem (I also use no-ip.info to redirect to the IP address and port of my server). Can you please explain how to do this part of your fix:

* Changed subsonic Control Panel setting (on the server computer) "Context Path" from "/" to "/Subsonic"

Thanks!

The Subsonic server is in the system tray and when opened has two tabs. The settings tab contains the Context Path setting. But as noted above, while phollis found changing it helped, I was able to leave it as is.

Good luck
