Can't find Settings page in WHS

Hello everyone,

Thankyou for this wonderful product. I believe I have it correctly installed on my WHS system. My problem is I can't find the Settings page to set the port # etc.

I am not able to use remote desktop (I get an error message - need terminal logon rights or need to be part of the desktop users group). So I am trying to do everyting from the Advanced Admin Console. As such I can't find the System Tray.

Is there another way to bring up the Settings Interface?

Thanks.

Nope, you have to be on the console to see the systray for initial server config. You'll see the little sub icon in the systray and away you go.

Did you grant your user remote access rights in the WHS console? It's just a checkbox and that will allow you to logon. Don't create users in WHS like you would in Server 2003, as that won't allow all the policy settings to be updated properly.

Darn, I was afraid of that. I'm trying to Remote Desktop into the WHS from a Dell WinXP client. The username I am using has Remote Access granted to it, and I have no problems using the WHC Connect Console or the Remote Access myhomeserver method.

I'll do some more checking around. Thanks for the response.

There is maybe a possibility.

With the help of the Advanced Admin Console you should be able to follow this guide (unfortunately on german) to enable Remote Desktop within the Windows Home Server Console.

http://www.home-server-blog.de/hilfe/ho ... le-nutzen/

Even if you do not speak german, the screenshots could be enough to follow the instructions, since they are in english too.

After following the the instructions you should have a Remote Desktop Connection instead of the Home Server Console and you will be able to configure subsonic with the little sub icon in the systray.

:)
