I recently had Subsonic working perfectly, but I had to reinstall the OS on my file server which it ran on. Now, it will only play MP3s. Is there anyone that has had this problem and fixed it?
Hardware
1.60GHz Atom HT 330
2GB of RAM
Windows Server 2008 Standard x32
Thank you.

Hi,
you need to configure the transcoding options after installing the transcoding package from the Subsonic website:
http://www.subsonic.org/pages/transcoding.jsp
Make sure you read the instructions as well - at the bottom of that page Sindre put up a list of solutions to common problems.

I got the transcoding pack and installed it even though the files already seemed to be present. Anyway, I opened up Subsonic's web interface and tried to play an wma file and Windows threw an error that said "wmadec.exe has stopped working". So, I know it is trying to utilize the correct decoder. Is there a newer version of this decoder that I need? I googled it and couldn't really find anything about the version.

I finally found the problem. I took a look at the crash report from Windows and saw a DLL file that is associated with WMP and since this is a highly streamlined server OS, it didn't have WMP installed. I had to add "Desktop Experience" in the server's features list.
