Need help, not sure where to start...

Hi, first post, been using subsonic for a couple months now. I've ran into an issue while trying to upgrade to beta and can't recover back to where I was...

Ideally, I want to have subsonic start when my machine starts. To do that, I added
sh /var/subsonic/subsonic.sh
to my /etc/local.rc script. Excuse me, let me add that I am running Debian Lenny (stable) and that Linux is awesome. Its been running without issue until I tried to upgrade to 3.9beta1. I have been running everything out of /var/subsonic/ where I cleared the whole folder out and placed the .tar.gz in there, extracted the filed, and when I fire up subsonic.sh I get no problems, yet when I access my server I get this in my browser

HTTP ERROR: 404

NOT_FOUND

RequestURI=/

Powered by jetty://

I'm not sure what I've done wrong... It was working fine with 3.8 - Not sure what I've done thats any different.

Another question I have, for when I get it back up and running again, is about logs and history. I intend to run subsonic as more or less a permanent service ont he machine. I would like to be able to append to the end of the logs rather than create a new one every time I restart my computer, for example. Not just these things, but I would like to be able to have chat conversations and postings carry over from when I have to restart my computer... To tracka nd log what users download and listen to what songs... The power might go out, machine goes down for maintenance, you name it... I would like to be able to carry over such info automatically. Is there a way to do this already that I don't know about? Maybe I am going about things the entire wrong way.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
