Android player unable to connect

I have a licensed Subsonic version 3.9 installed on my home server. Recently, I upgraded the Android application (running on Nexus One) but now I am not able to connect to my server. It fails every time with the following error message:

Connection failure. Illegal character in query at index 53: http://najdrovsky.com:8080/subsonic/res ... &c=android

Could I get some suggestions how to fix this? Prior to upgrading to the current app, I was able to connect. The web application itself working fine in a browser, only the Android app seems to have a problem.

Same problem..mine is an illegal character in authority at index 27.

I installed on a vista machine and can get to my archived music and play it fine on that computer.

I installed the android app and get the above error when trying to connect. The server address I use is http://[my server name].subsonic.org. Is this right?

For s&g's, I pointed the droid browser to that address and subsonic comes up with my music catalog, but it won't play anything.

bump....

I was hoping Sindre would reply to this by now. I paid for the Subsonic registration specifically so that I could stream to my Android phone (Nexus One). As it stands, it simply does not work.

Hi and sorry for overlooking this post.

I've analyzed this problem and I think it could happen if you have entered a whitespace before or after the server address or username in the server settings.

Can you please check that?

Thanks.

Yes! That was it. Somehow, a space got *in front* of my login name. Must have been some sort of soft keyboard snafu. Thanks for the reply!

No problem. I will make sure to automatically trim these values in the next version.

I am having a similar issue.

Do I put in myusername.subsonic.org or my ip address on my droid app?

FYI I get "Connection OK" for "Subsonic Demo".

I have port forwarded using port 80. Made firewall program exceptions with the port too
