easiest way is to use standalone installation package (find in in downloads section on subsonic homepage) works for win and linux.

I already installed subsonic and wanted to reuse this installation. Is there no possibility to move the db folder and reregister the services?

I have the same question... On a windows installation, how do you move the c:\subsonic to a location of choice?
Just moving doesn't work. Starting the service will create a new c:\subsonic folder.
Anybody?

If you are running under tomcat for windows you can set subsonic.home in the Java Options section (you get there by running tomcat6w.exe).

example:

-Dsubsonic.home=d:\foo

If you are running the windows standalone version you can set the subsonic.home in subsonic-service.exe.vmoptions (normally in c:\program files\subsonic).

In the case of tomcat you should restart tomcat. In the case of standalone subsonic you should restart the subsonic service.

Thank you mgrant, that worked perfectly.
I use the windows version on a 64bit installation of windows, so the file was in "C:\Program Files (x86)\SubSonic".
There was no entry in the file subsonic-service.exe.vmoptions , so I added the following line to the bottom of the list:

-Dsubsonic.home=d:\subsonic

Then stopped the service, moved the subsonic folder from C: to D: and restarted the service. Et Voila, it worked like a charm.
