Subsonic Forum

I have not yet started to install this but here is my plan. I have a ubuntu server that has all of my music installed on it. Currently I share that music out with samba. Can I install Subsonic on a virtual machine and point the music directory to the samba share?

I just cant figure this out. My samba shares work fine in windows. I am able to type \\MEDIA\media\albums to get to my music. In Subsonic that doesnt work, nor does smb:/user:pass@ip/path. I dont understand how this DOESNT work when it does in windows.
