Just as a tip, if you're running on Windows 2008 (or any server addition I would think) you have to install the "Desktop Experience" feature in order for wma transcoding to work. I don't know about any other codecs, as I only have wma and mp3 files on the server. Just an FYI, since the troubleshooting tips didn't mention this.
