Hi All:

I might be interpreting them wrong, but if you look at the usage statistics off the home page they seem way too high. Is this information in bits or bytes, and it is possible that the prefix is somehow wrong? Also is there a way get more usage statistics than those available within subsonic?

I maybe wasn't specific enough last time. I am looking at the user statistics form the the home page in Subsonic and I have streamed 6,000,000 MB. This seems way to high... Can anybody clarify this for me?

I have the same question. I'm streaming a high vbr file that's about 30mb large, but after the file plays once, I'm showing nearly 500mb of transfer. While playing this file, the bitrate is up near 1000Kbps. Example:



Is it _really_ transfering that much through some transcoding? Or are the stats just off?

I think I have an explanation for what you are seeing, but it was not what I was referring to. When you have a player in Subsonic and you view the status like in your picture, the amount transmitted (456.6 MB) is the amount that has been transferred since Subsonic was restarted last. If you restart Subsonic these values will be reset to (0 MB) for all players. That feature actually works fine for me, the problem that I am having is explained by the picture I have included:

As you can see there is a huge amount of data being transferred which doesn't correspond with the output I get from utilities such as bmon. It just seems ridiculous for an install that is merely a few months old.

Sorry to be so persistent but nobody has any idea? Is this talked about somewhere else that someone can refer me to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, I've seen the same problem and hope to fix it in 4.0.

In my case it seems like the numbers go crazy when I use the Subsonic Android app. Is that the same in your case?

Thanks for the reply. I am not using any external applications, just the web interface. I have 10 or so users but I know that they are also using the web interface... That said, I have checked the amounts in the Status tab and those amounts seem correct. So the problem with the aggregated results seem even stranger. Right now I am at ~8.5TB (lol). This equates to something like 2.66 years if I listen to 6 hours of music a day at 320kbps. Either way, it really isn't a problem because Subsonic works great otherwise (I just wanted to know).

Are you planning on putting more robust user statistics in any future release of Subsonic? I kinda get into all the stats (engineer)... Thanks for the great program, it is really nice having my music everywhere I go.

That said, I was wondering if there was a way to remove everything but the powers of 10 on the logarithmic scale for the users? (10, 100, 1000, etc.) I know I am just being picky but it would look a bit more svelte...

I too have found the usage statistics to be way off. I use the Android app on my Motorola Droid and it works fine other than the skipping music upon notification or whatever. Anyways, I use the web interface quite a bit, and notice the strange numbers for some time. I restarted my server just tonight and streamed only 3 or four songs and I am at 4MB? again, still seems high for local wifi and bit rate set to 128kbps mp3 stream. Also, the statistics are grouped and seem to identify with each particular song??

I'd like to see some logging and statistics on actual logins and numbers for stream dload and upload per user and say make it where you can filter 30 days 90 days 128 days and so on and see if there are users not even using who can be deleted.
