Port Forwarding??

I am having trouble getting Subsonic to work on my Android phone. I think that the problem may be that I don't know how to set up port forwarding, and I can't find instructions for my router (2Wire 3800 HGV-B) to use with Subsonic. My router is actually a residential gateway that is part of my AT&T U-Verse system.

I downloaded the Subsonic server software and created an account with a username. Set up a site http://(myname).subsonic.org. It says this feature is available til May 5. then I have to donate.

I checked the box saying "Automatically configure your router for UpNp" but it says "no router found. If I uncheck that box status says "port forwarding disabled."

I have a feeling that at least part of the problem is that I need to set up port forwarding but I'm not sure how and can't find instructions for subsonic and my router on portforward.com

I'd really appreciate some help with this. This seems like a great prograa if I could get it to work.

No, I"m not TimK though I seem to be having pretty simialr issues (although my machine is Windows Vista, not Linux.

I tried wading through the technical stuff on the manual for the router but, since I'm not a techie I got lost.

If there isn't a relatively simple way to get Subsonic working on my machine I don't think I'm going to be able to run this program.

Too bad though because i'd really like to. When I use it on my internal WiFi it works great - but that isn't really what I want it for. When I'm at home I already have access to my library.

Anyone who has experience with this router who can give me some tips would be great.
