Accessing Subsonic thru' Apache Virtualhosts

Postby drifter » Tue Apr 13, 2010 7:04 pm

I downloaded and installed Subsonic over the weekend and after going thru' several posts here I can access it locally and pay mp3, flac and wma formats.

Now I would like to add this to my Apache2 Virtual hosts. But so far no luck. Could some one please guide me on this.

I am using debian lenny with the WAR version of Subsonic.

Thanks

Now I can access the site after installing proxy and proxy-http modes in apache.

here is my virtualhost entry

Code: Select all
<VirtualHost *:80>
ServerName sonix.mydomain.com
ProxyRequests Off
<Proxy *>
Order deny,allow
Allow from all
</Proxy>
ProxyPass / http://192.168.2.106:8180/subsonic/
ProxyPassReverse / http://192.168.2.106:8180/subsonic/
</VirtualHost>

This takes me to the login screen but when I enter username/password the page gets just refreshed and ask for the username/password again. It never takes me in to the site.

As far as I can access the login screen apache/tomcat is working fine I believe. Is there any thing else I need to do?..

Interested to hear the answer to this. I've noticed that if I try to browse my Subsonic server using Chrome's incognito mode, 75% of the time it does what's happening to you, just refreshes the screen. I'm running off the default deb Ubuntu install with Tomcat. It works fine for me in regular mode in Chrome and in other browsers. I'm interested to know what causes the home screen refresh (could be a different reason for you though).

Thanks for the reply. I tried everything I could. I do get a "Wrong username or password." error if I enter a wrong user name or password.

Did you see this post titled "Integrating Subsonic into existing Apache Web Space"? http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1569

I have seen this thread too...Thats how I was able to do this much. But lat day I saw this thread http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3012

and after adding the ProxyPassReverseCookieDomain and ProxyPassReverseCookiePath I was able to login from outside.

But Still got few problems. First of all it says "Get Flashplayer", if I login locally the player is there.

Secondly the Albums shown in the middle frame are without any links, the album arts are also missing. Hyperlinks for the Albums on the leftpane are working but as the player is missing I can't play any files.

:(
