Subsonic Forum

I am looking for some clarification on licensing the server for use with the API. Sorry if I missed it somewhere else in the forum.

From the documentation:

Please note that access to the REST API requires that the server has a valid license. To get a license key you can give a donation to the Subsonic project.

I assume that the licensing is enforced by the developer? My server is not licensed, returns value="false" from getLicense.view, but the other methods of the API still function properly. Is there any type of trial period or is the license enforced immediately?

Normally there is a trial, after that api functions are not available until you donate and register app
