Android - got 0 artists?

i have install the subsonic software on my computer and can play all my music through the browser. It does list all my music in the browser as well.

When i use the android app to access my server it connects fine and i can run a "test connection" and get a "connection is ok. server unlicensed" i have not donated yet, but i have 30 days to use my USERNAME.subsonic.org server address, so that shouldnt be the problem.

when i select my server and click My Music, i get "got 0 artists". If i do a search of music i know is available i get no results found. what am i doing wrong? i checked the port forwarding option in the network settings, and i am using the easy-to-remember address (as noted above).

Why cant it find my music?? could it be my folder structure? i pointed it to my music folder--which is on a separate hard drive in the same computer. my structure is music folder>>ARTIST>>ALBUM (if there are separate albums).

I thought maybe it was a permissions issue, but the browser can see the music just fine.

Any help would be appreciated--i have to go out of town for a few days and would like this working before i go so i can access it on the road.

EDIT: just noticed in the browser that if i test my USERNAME.subsonic.org address from with the browser i get this error:
Status: USERNAME.subsonic.org is registered, but could not connect to it. (ConnectTimeoutException)

I'm having the same problem. Subsonic works great on my PCs using the browser but I get 0 artists using the droid app. I installed subAir and I'm having the same problem (no music/artists are found).

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I setup a playlist thru the web using my PC and the playlist does appear on the droid and I'm able to play songs. But, there are still zero artists showing in the My Music section. I also donated and got a license key but that didn't solve the problem.

More Information: From the android...... the search function works. So, I can search for a song in my music library and it finds the song and plays with no problems. I also noticed that the left frame on the web version does not display any artists.. I'm wondering if the two issues are related.

i finally got it working, but i dont really know how.

I deleted all the users i had already setup, and started over by creating one new user. Once i changed the settings in my android to use that user everything just started working.

what possibly could of been the issue is that i installed subsonic on my phone first, then setup my account. I then setup the users online, and added the setup info and server info to my android----then i got my music folders setup. i think adding my music after setting up my android screwed it up. Once i deleted the users and started over it worked right away.

I just began having this problem. Everything was working great yesterday. I did update some apps on my phone, but I am not sure how this would affect subsonic. I tried deleting all the users, and restarting the subsonic service (I am running ubuntu), but now the android app, just freezes, even if I am on the wifi network, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using a samsung galaxy s, thanks.

EDIT: even when connecting to to the subsonic demo server, upon "Reading from server" the app freezes and is forced close. I reinstalled subsonic, and restarted the phone. No luck. The search function finds music, however random returns "No music found".

EDIT: Sindre fixed it.
