Remote access / 3g PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!

Postby soulshare » Fri Apr 23, 2010 8:32 am

HI guys

I am using windows XP PC SP2 and a BTHomeHub V2 Router I really like this software, I used to use Simplify media and I know about jukefly JMPS - which does work and orb, but this one I like the best!!
Anyway here is the link page to the Tutorial I followed for BTHomeHub.
http://www.filesaveas.com/bthomehub_portforwarding.html
but I was not too sure when it came to Port number / range and TCP / UDP - I had read somewhere on the forum (Sorry cannot find) that it was TCP so I put TCP and 80 in both boxes.
I also looked at this Forum Tutorial:
http://forum.subsonic.org/forum/viewtop ... rt+forward
I just need to clarify what numbers I place in both the Port range (2 boxes) and the Translate to ( 2 boxes) and the Trigger port box on the router config. set up (BThomehub) Think this is where I got stuck last time.
I have also checked the Auto configure router option, with the port number as 80 - at present it states Successfully forwarding port 80 to local port 80 and below that I have put my dynamic address - 'soul7.subsonic.org' but at the moment it says failed to test web address. Not found (HttpResponseException)

Im prob just not doing something simple, but any help to get it sorted would be really, really appreciated! I also want to get it working over 3g for my phone, which hopefully once the port issue is sorted should work? I have both iSub and z-subsonic on iPhone 3gs

I presume it is a port issue but just dont know what Im doing wrong?

Cheers .

I was able to access everything locally on my netwrok but at present when i put in my http://soul7.subsonic.org address I get this message on the page:

HTTP Status 404 -

type Status report

message

description The requested resource () is not available.

Apache Tomcat/5.5.27

Hopefully someone out there can help me out, Im gutted as I really want to get this working both on my pals PC's and my mac / iPhone when Im out and about.

thankyou

Keep up the good work

Sounds like it was just an issue with the *.subsonic.org forwarding system, and you just happened to set up your port forwarding right when the issue started

Hi Guys thanks for the responses, it seems that the 404 error was, as you say, an issue that has now been resolved.
I am still however having problems accessing my address outside of my wireless network.
I have no problem with the soul7.subsonic.org address on my mac and iPhone at home with the subsonic running on a windows xp PC but when I try to access outside on a pals PC or on 3g on my iphone I cannot get access?

below are some links of screens of my bthomehub page and what I am doing for Port forwarding after making sure that I allow UPNP

is this right? any help really is appreciated!
http://yfrog.com/6bpicture1hip

If that is right I then go to this page

http://yfrog.com/2rpicture2owp

do I then have to assign the subsonic application to my device (i.e laptop that is running subsonic?) or do I have to put the ip of the computer running subsonic somwhere in there?? which in this case is a 192.**** forgive my inexperience, but I am really wanting this to work, I may be wrong but is a 192.***** ip address going to work over 3g?

Hope someone can give me a heping hand here. I know some of you guys have tried! appreciated! just want to share my soul grooves to go hand in hand with my radio show!

Cheers
